In 2007, the Jersey Cricket Board received notification from the International Cricket Council to say that Jersey had been designated host for the 2008 World Cricket League Division 5 Tournament. On 23rd May 2008, Jersey Post will issue a Miniature Sheet to commemorate this prestigious occasion for the Jersey Cricket Board and for the Island of Jersey.
The Miniature Sheet surround features the Victoria College cricket ground (with Victoria College just visible in the background) and the Jersey Captain hitting a Jersey Cricket Board ball for six. The flags featured represent those countries qualified to take part at the time of printing whilst the stamp depicts a Jersey Cricket Board ball knocking the bails off the stumps.
