Commemorative stamps feature ecological beauty of Taiwan

Taiwan Post, as event organizer of the 21st Asian International Stamp Exhibition, will issue a series of commemorative stamps under the exhibition's theme of the "Ecological Beauty of Taiwan."

The first to be launched is the stamp of Mikado Pheasant, also known as Syrmaticus Mikado, a bird species native to mountainous regions of Taiwan.

"The stamp will be formally issued at a face value of NT$25 on the first day of the exhibition on March 7," said Taiwan Post Chairperson Ho Yuan-Hsuan.

In addition, Taiwan Post will issue a commemorative set of four stamps reprinted from four Chinese bird paintings collected as national treasures in the National Palace Museum. They are the works of prominent painters from the Sung, Yuan, Ming and Ching dynasties in Chinese history.
