The U.S. Postal Service issued two new stamps this week featuring prominent Maine women. One is a 75-cent stamp featuring the likeness of author Harriet Beecher Stowe. The other honors Senator Margaret Chase Smith.
Ceremonies were held in Brunswick and Skowhegan Wednesday to mark the debut of postage stamps, which are both part of the "Distinguished Americans Series."
