This Italian patriot, who was born in Nice, fought against Austria, the Kingdom of "Both-Sicily" (expedition of the one thousand in 1860) and the Papacy for the Italian Unity. GARIBALDI fought with France in 1870 and represents an ideal of courage, perseverance in favour of an ideal and, more generally, of Good. More well thought out than bloody, he was in the forefront of the battle to make his convictions prevail.
