Streamers and confetti... A Celebration to last throughout the year

Canada Post today announced a new "Celebration" stamp to be issued on January 15, 2007. The domestic rate Celebration stamp, perfect for sending messages filled with well wishes, allows for a bright and cheery way to commemorate all those special occasions in our lives.

Streamers and confetti get your party started! They set the perfect mood and create a dynamic atmosphere, giving mailings a unique festive look. A birth announcement introduces a new life, a birthday card rejoices in the life of a loved one; a wedding invitation requests your presence at a ceremony uniting two loving souls… these events are deserving of a "Celebration" stamp.

Designer Karen Smith of Trivium Design Inc. of Halifax noted how difficult it was to capture the mood on such a small surface. "Confetti being nearly impossible to find these days forced me to be creative and make my own" said Smith, "and the ribbons capture the mood in such a way that you can feel the party, hear the excitement…" The mood is so prominent on this stamp that even the font chosen to inscribe Canada enhances the atmosphere.
