Ferenc Szisz (Szeghalom, 20 Sept 1873 – Auffargis, 21 Feb 1944), the French racing driver of Hungarian origin, won the first Grand Prix.
The stamp design features Ferenc Szisz behind the wheel of his famous racing car. In the background there is an enlarged portrait of him. The first day cover and postmark have motifs of the racing car.
