Hong Kong Post are to issue a new set of stamps on 21 September to mark the United Nations' International Day of Peace.

Since 2002 the United Nations General Assembly have insisted that 21 September is recognized as a day to observe peace, and this year Hong Kong have decided to do this with stamps.

As the announcement regarding the issue was made, the Postmaster General, Mr. Tam Wing-pong said: "the set of five stamps draws on nature to illustrate an ideal world defined by Love, Peace, Hope, Caring and Harmony. Intelligent use of lettering in both Chinese characters and Roman letters further enhances the decorative effect."
