The two-year countdown toward the start of the 2008 Beijing Olympics has been marked with the issue of four new stamps.
The set of stamps depict four very different sports in basketball, fencing, sailing and gymnastics, presumably in order to reflect the diversity of the competition. The State Post Bureau of China and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games have jointly issued the stamps, with a percentage of the sales going toward the organization of the Games.
