POS Malaysia Bhd will be issuing a set of special stamps and First day Covers featuring Malaysian festivals on Aug 15.

The special stamps are the works of children who participated in a Drawing Competition organized by Pos Malaysia earlier this year.

Pos Malaysia philately senior manager Wong Lai Kim said they chose to issue the special stamps in August in conjunction with Merdeka celebrations.

"We want everyone to know that our country has many different races and festivals," said Wong.

The festivals chosen for the 40mm x 30mm sized stamps are Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, Chinese New Year and Deepavali. The stamps are all printed in sheets of 20 and are available in three denominations.

The Gawai Festival and Tadau Kaamatan stamps come on Miniature Sheets of 30mm x 40mm in size and are priced at RM 1 each.

First Day covers are available at 30 sen each and Presentation Packs priced at RM4 can be purchased at all Post Offices while the folders are available at selected post offices for RM 5 each.

A full set will cost RM51.40 and will be available at all post offices.
