German Paintings
The special stamp series "German painting" presents important German works of art. The current stamp shows a detail from a small Triptychon. That is a "folding picture", with which the center piece with for seitenfluegeln attached on the left and on the right can be locked. The painting was created around 1350 for Cologne monasteries the pc. Klara by a Cologne workshop and is today in the constant exhibition of the Wallraf Richartz museum - Fondation Corbout in Cologne to see.
