The South African Post Office issued stamps featuring renewable energy sources on 26 September 2005. A special canceller and a commemorative envelope were also issued. Sulet Schulze made these designs as one of her projects while studying Graphic Design at the University of the North-West. By choosing renewable energy as a theme, she wanted to create more awareness of the fact that South Africa, in line with the rest of the world, does not use only fossil fules for energy production anymore.
