World Year of Physics 2005
In honour of 1905, the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) has declared 2005 the International Year of Physics. South Africa's Department of Science and Technology, in partnership with the South African Institute of Physics have sponsored a range of activities which culminates on 7 July 2005 when the South African Institute of Physics celebrates its own 50th anniversary with an Einstein day. To coincide with these events, the South African Post Office issued this stamp designed by Rachel Ackermann.
