The Hungarian Post Office Ltd. is commemorating the life and work of Ferenc Farkas (Nagykanizsa, 15th December 1905 – Budapest, 11th October 2000), composer by issuing stamps on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth.
The drawing on the first day cover shows the artist's Bosendorfer piano with lines from his cantata "The Sovereign's Desires". On the special cancellation stamp there is a graphic composition suiting the atmosphere and elements of the postage stamp.
