The fortunate collector who found an example of the withdrawn German Audrey Hepburn stamp has been told that it could fetch up to 50,000 euros at auction. Experts are advising he sells soon though before another example surfaces as collectors across Germany start to search frantically.
Werner Duerrschmidt, the 57 year old Bavarian postal worker who came across the stamp in September admits he was somewhat taken aback when he made the discovery: "I'd never heard of this issue," he said. "I asked other collectors and they hadn't either."
