Russian Silverware of the late 19th – early 20th centuries. The articles of the collection of All-Russian Museum of Decorative-Applied and Folk Arts.
A new silverware national school and Russian decorative-applied as a whole has been started to develop dynamically in the beginning of the 1840s that resulted in creation the national "Russian Style" as an original art style of the Russian ornamental silverware.
Special interest of the Russian society in the history of the country has encouraged creation of material and figurative world of Russian antiquity of silver-working art.
A tendency toward creation exquisite shapes and decoration innovations has been distinctly revealed in silverware by Russian skilled craftsmen in addition to new and original design that associated with application or imitation of Russian traditional techniques: filigree, silver engraving, enameling filigree, polychrome enamel.
Due to the diversity of the techniques applied in the second half of the 19th – 20th century one can call that period "the Golden Age" of the Russian ornamental silverware.
