Every year, the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal offers more than two million music lovers the opportunity to see some of the greatest jazz legends in venues throughout the city. As the festival celebrates 25 years of sharing the music, Canada Post honours this great Canadian tourist attraction with a commemorative stamp to be issued on June 1, 2004.

The anniversary festivities kick off on June 29, 2004 with a special concert featuring Diana Krall and friends. The event ends on July 11, 2004 with a special double bill concert featuring Oscar Peterson and the legendary Oliver Jones, who will come out of retirement for this appearance. In between the performances of these legends and popular artists, will be an additional 500 shows, many with free admission, on the festival's signature indoor and outdoor stages along the streets of downtown Montreal. More than 2,000 musicians, from 20 countries, will be welcomed by millions of festival fans as they perform these concerts.
