Canada Post today announced its 2005 postage stamp program. When Canadians put a stamp on the 5 billion pieces of lettermail the post office will likely process next year, they can choose to celebrate Canada's role in several historic events, some well-known and respected Canadian personalities, exciting new sports, or the culture and society that is uniquely Canada.
"The post office has a real responsibility to ensure that Canadian postage stamps reflect the country – its people, history, traditions and cultures," said Anne Joynt, President and CEO of Canada Post. "These tiny pieces of paper offer so much opportunity to share the best of Canada with all Canadians, and the world, and I believe that our 2005 stamp program offers something for everyone."
