Australia Post and Cricket Australia have announced plans to rush out stamps commemorating Australia's victory in the Ashes series, just a day after Ricky Ponting's side reclaimed the urn from England.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
In March, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) will be the 23rd honoree immortalized on a stamp in the US Postal Service's Literary Arts series. Born in Portland, Maine — then part of Massachusetts — in 1807, Longfellow is considered the "uncrowned poet laureate" of 19th-century America. He wrote more than 400 poems and is remembered for narrative poems such as Paul Revere's Ride and The Song of Hiawatha.

New flower stamps will bloom in 2007
Canada Post today announced it will issue three definitive stamps as part of the ongoing Flowers series on December 19. These colourful stamps will bloom on oversized items in Canada and on mailings to the U.S. and international destinations. The stamps will reflect the new rates, which take effect January 15, 2007.

25 years of the Princess Grace Theatre
The 25 years of the Princess Grace Theatre are commemorated with a show dedicated to Josephine BAKER, the naked negro dancer, friend of the Princess Grace, many times as top of the bill in Monaco where she is buried. This theatre, strongly wished by the Princess Grace and where a part of the Monegasque cultural evenings of a great quality take place, is set up in the renovated premises of the old Monte-Carlo Post Office.

Monaco: Grand-Prix of Philately ASCAT 2006
The International Association of the Editors of philatelic Catalogues and Publications has been meeting together for nearly 20 years in the Principality, upon the initiative of Mr. Alexander D. KROO, his general secretary from 1977 till 1996. Mr. KROO created the "GRAND-PRIX OF PHILATELY – ASCAT", which was given in the Principality to the Swiss Post, to the Prince Rainier III, to His Excellency Mr. SAMARANCH, President of the International Olympic Committee, to Bertrand PICCARD, to the football player FIGO and to H.R.H. the Princess Maria-Gabriella of Savoy.

Block MonacoPhil 2006
The "MonacoPhil 2006" Exhibition is the sixth prestigious event that has been organized since 1997. With the Exhibition of the world philatelic Rarities, it became a Rendez-Vous for the public. The "Club de Monte-Carlo", composed of Postal Museums and of about a hundred only of great collectors, was created by the Prince Rainier III upon an initiative of Mr. Alexander D. 100th Anniversary of the Austrian Stamp and Coin Dealers Association
There have been stamps for 160 years, and for about 160 years they have been collected and traded. There have been philately clubs for about 140 years, retailers' associations for 120 years and in 2006 the Austrian Stamp Dealers Association is also celebrating its 100th birthday.

75th Rally - 65th Grand-Prix
Created in 1911, the Monte-Carlo Rally is a highlight event of the world championship. It also takes place on the roads in the countryside just inland from Nice. Created in 1929, the "Grand Prix Automobile" of Monaco with its racing circuit entirely in the city, is atypical and particularly prized by the drivers.

Monaco: Auguste Escoffier
This great Master of the French cookery was born in Villeneuve-Loubet in 1846 where a Museum is dedicated to him. He set up in 1884 in the kitchens of the "Grand-Hotel of Monte-Carlo", led by Cesar RITZ. Both men had then bound careers, also at the "Savoy" in London or at the "Ritz" in Paris. He retired in Monaco from 1920 where he died in 1935. He proposed a new cookery, more simple, refined and comfortable and created many dishes among which the "Peche Melba".

Monaco: Centenary of Paul-Emile Victor's birth
Paul-Emile VICTOR, a great French Adventurer, explorer of the North Pole was also passionately fond of Polynesia where he ended his life as a Consul of Monaco in Papeete. It is a tribute to this man close to the Principality, and to the Pole which is a concern of H.S.H. Prince Albert II.

20 years of the Cardio-Thoracic Center
The Cardio-Thoracic Center of Monaco was created upon the initiative of the Professor Vincent DOR, a worldwide known surgeon, to equip the Principality with the best technologies near the Princess Grace Hospital. Austria: Formula 1 Legends - Michael Schumacher
Michael Schumacher, born on 3 January 1969 in Kerpen (Germany), recently, after his 90th Grand Prix victory at Monza, announced that he was retiring from active participation in motor racing. He is the undisputed king of Formula 1, having been world champion seven times in total, five times between 2000 and 2004 – a record unparalleled in grand-prix racing. This makes this German resident in Switzerland the most successful racing driver of all times.

Old Austria: 750 Years Lvov
Lvov is the capital of the region of the same name with a population of 2.6 million and occupying an area of 21,800 km2. The town of Lvov itself has a population of 830,000. Like a true "diamond" of Eastern Europe, Lvov appears as an open-air museum with 2,000 historical, architectural and cultural monuments.
