Austria: 25 Years of 'Menschen fur Menschen'
Deeply moved by the plight of the people in the refugee camps of Ethiopia, Karlheinz Bohm founded the "Menschen für Menschen" aid organisation in Germany on November 13 1981, and has worked with the organisation in an honorary capacity ever since, spending several months a year living in the most primitive conditions in Ethiopia and using the rest of the year for media events and lectures to draw public attention to his foundation's activities.

Greenland: The Mother of the Sea and the Mistress of the Weather
The Greenlandic legend of "The Mother of the Sea" is about Uitsatagangitsoq, who travels to the Mother of the Sea since his settlement is suffering from hunger due to a lack of animals to catch. He then has to persuade her to release the animals. In order to get her to do this, he is ordered to go back home and explain to the humans what they have been doing wrong in their lives.

Denmark: Mythical creatures in the landscape
The minisheet features a mythical landscape in the moonlight. The DKK 4.75 stamp features motifs from a hill of elves at the bottom the elf king and above him three seductive elf girls. The DKK 7.00 stamp features two mares at the top, in the middle the ghost horse surrounded by a goblin and a troll, and at the bottom two werewolves. The illustration in the middle of the sheet is of 'the Marsh Woman' brewing a ground mist and a band of will-o'-the-wisps and sprites.

Canada Post unwraps a new birthday stamp!
As children, we can't wait for our next birthday
the cake, the party, the presents! As adults, many of us would prefer to forget them, though we enjoy celebrating the birthdays of our friends and families birthdays are the second largest sending occasion, after Christmas. As well, Canada Post research indicates that 70% of us would prefer to receive a card in the mail for our birthday, instead of an email greeting. On April 3, the post office will issue a special stamp for use on those birthday cards and greetings.

Hank Greenberg to be honored on 39-cent stamp
The big bats came out Friday. The U.S. Postal Service unveiled its new set of 39-cent stamps honoring four of baseball's biggest hitters. The stamps will be issued July 15 in ceremonies at Yankee Stadium.

100 years of modern sheep farming in Greenland
100 years ago, the first organized sheep farming experiments began in Frederiksdal (Narsaq Kujalleq), South Greenland. Today, sheep farming is intensified with the goal of achieving a high production. Greenlandic mutton is a delicacy, which contributes to the economy by good export income for Greenland.
