September 11 stamp raises 10.5 million dollars
A commemorative U.S. postage stamp honoring the heroes of September 11, 2001, has raised $10.5 million for the families of rescuers killed or permanently disabled in the terrorist attacks.

Royal Mail release Motorcycle stamps
Six stamps depicting motorcycles from 1914 to 1991 went on sale on 19th July.
The stamps, designed by Ian Chivers of Atelier Works and illustrated by Michael English, continue the series featuring transport. They have been printed in lithography by Walsall Security Printers.

Aviation sheet takes off at Wisconsin air show
The "American Advances in Aviation" commemorative sheet, featuring 10 classic aircraft from the 1930s, '40s and '50s, will be dedicated Friday at the world's premier air show, the 2005 Experimental Aviation Association's AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in convention in Oshkosh, Wis.

On July 16, Canada Post will issue a single commemorative stamp to mark the 400th anniversary of the establishment of the French settlement at Port-Royal, Nova Scotia. The
domestic-rate stamp (50c), featuring French explorer Samuel de Champlain's drawing of the Habitation, is the second in a series of stamps celebrating French settlements established between 1604 and 1608, and related explorations, in what became Canada.

In honour of 1905, the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) has declared 2005 the International Year of Physics. South Africa's Department of Science and Technology, in partnership with the South African Institute of Physics have sponsored a range of activities which culminates on 7 July 2005 when the South African Institute of Physics celebrates its own 50th anniversary with an Einstein day. Royal Mail is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the end of WWII
Royal Mail is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II by releasing the End of War Miniature Sheet. The sheet's centrepiece is taken from the 1995 Peace and Freedom Issue featuring the iconic St Paul's Cathedral illuminated by giant wartime spotlights. This triumphant and joyous sheet has a background showing British soldiers and French civilians, and is bordered with olive branches.
