Stompin' Tom honoured on postage stamp
Stompin' Tom Connors is being honoured on a new postage stamp.
The stamp was released by Canada Post at a ceremony in Alberton, P.E.I., Thursday, not far from Skinner's Pond, where Stompin' Tom grew up.
The singer, 73, is one of four Canadian musicians appearing on a quartet of stamps.

Australia's Favourite Stamp
The £2 Kangaroo and Map stamp has been voted Australia's favourite stamp.
This stamp was originally issued in 1913 as part of the first uniform issue of stamps by the Commonwealth of Australia. It caused considerable controversy, as it did not include a portrait of the reigning British monarch.

Postage stamp commemorating Zion National Park issued
The U.S. Postal Service has given Zion National Park a stamp of recognition to coincide with the park's centennial celebration this year.
In a ceremony Sunday on the plaza outside the park's visitor center, the 79-cent international postage stamp, featuring a sandstone formation rising from surrounding slickrock, was unveiled before about 70 stamp collectors and visitors.

Bryan Adams honored with his own stamp

Zion National Park to appear on 79-cent postage stamp
This international-rate stamp in the Scenic American Landscapes series features a photograph of Zion National Park by Richard Cummins of Temecula, CA. The photograph reveals layers of sedimentary rock that reflect the park's geologic origins in the slickrock area on the east side of the park.

Stamp collection pulls in $5 million
A United States stamp depicting an upside-down electric car cost just 4 cents when it was issued in 1901.
A strip of four of those stamps fetched more than $300,000 during the auction this week of famously flawed postage stamps owned by the late Mt. Lebanon investment adviser, Robert H. Cunliffe. The complete collection of 3,000 upside-down postage stamps -- considered the world's most comprehensive -- grossed $5,041,000 in the two-day auction, which closed yesterday and drew bidders from around the world.

Post boxes miniature sheet

Lincoln stamp: Stolen, found, sold for $431,000
A rare Abraham Lincoln stamp that was stolen from Indiana in 1967 and surfaced 39 years later in Chicago has sold at auction for more than $430,000.
The buyer is Arthur K.M. Woo, a doctor who would reveal nothing more about himself.
